CLIENT

Government Of Rwanda

PROJECT LOCATION

Kigali International Airport, Rwanda

PROJECT TYPE

Cross-Hole Sonic Logging Integrity Testing

Project Description

This test was carried out in accordance with ASTM D6760– Standard Test Method for Integrity Testing of Concrete Deep Foundations by Ultrasonic Cross hole Testing. Interpretation of the test results was undertaken in accordance with the Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) Cross hole Sonic Logging (CSL) Interpretation Guidelines (2019).

Ultrasonic pulse transmission was performed between access tubes installed within each pile, and the integrity assessment was based on the analysis of First Arrival Time (FAT) and signal energy attenuation, which are recognized indicators of concrete continuity and potential anomalies such as voids, inclusions, segregation, or honeycombing.

Execution Strategy

Phased construction planning, strict safety management, quality control systems, and integrated engineering coordination ensured timeline and cost certainty.

Project Outcome

Project delivered on schedule and within budget, achieving full operational readiness, regulatory compliance, and long-term production reliability.
